AEK Athens F.C. are a Greek club based in Nea Filadelfeia suburb of Athens. The yellow and black club of Athens is known by various nicknames: énosis (union), kitrinómavri (yellow and blacks), vassílissa (the Queen) and dikéfalos aetós (the Two-Head Eagle). AEK is the abbreviation of the full name of the club, which is Athlitikí Énosis Konstantinoupóleos (Athletic Club of Constantinople), since the club was established in Athens on 13th of April 1924, by Greek refugees from Constantinople.

AEK have used two stadiums as their home ground; Nikos Goumas Stadium (Nea Filadelfeia, 1930-1985, 1987-2003) and Athens Olympic Stadium (1985-1987, 2004-present). There are plans for building a new stadium where Nikos Goumas Stadium used to be, in the very same area in Nea Filadelfeia, the home of AEK. The stadium is due to be built by 2017 and the name will be "Hagia Sophia Stadium", named after the historical temple in Constantinople.

The club is known for winning the Greek Alpha Ethniki (Superleague) 11 times, the last being in 1994, the Greek Beta Ethniki (Football League) once in 2014-2015 season, the Greek Gamma Ethniki (Football League 2) in 2013-2014 season, the Greek Football Cup 15 times (2015-2016 winners), the Greek Super Cup thrice, the only Greek League Cup that was held in 1989-1990 season, by beating their rivals Olympiacos with 3-2. AEK have also won the Pre-Mediterranean Cup in 1991. In Europe, they are known for reaching the Semi-Finals of the 1976-1977 UEFA Cup (now UEFA Europa League), the Quarter-Finals of the 1968-1969 European Cup (now UEFA Champions League), the Quarter-Finals of the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup twice, in 1996-1997 and 1997-1998, while in 1967 AEK were the runner-ups of the Balkans Cup, losing to also Constantinople-based Fenerbahçe.

AEK's first PES appearance lacked of license. In PES 4, they were known as "AC Greek". From PES 2008 to PES 2013, AEK were present and, of course, licensed.

All other 3 major Greek clubs (Panathinaikos, PAOK and Olympiacos) that have appeared occasionally on PES series have a rivalry with AEK. The derbies of the "Two-Headed Eagle" with "PAO" and "Oly" are really intense, but the greatest derby is the one of the "two-headed eagles", between AEK and PAOK. Both clubs have a common origin from Constantinople. But since Athens and Thessaloniki are always rivals, this also goes for the clubs.
